Nowadays this village is property of the Ministry of Defense and is used as a training site. However it’s open to public over Easter Bank Holiday, when hundred of curious come and discover this uninhabited village. 

Belchite, Spain.

The remains are shocking and striking, like the church and the clock tower as well as some of the sculptures, which remain intact.  If you want to visit this area, remember that is a historical site and you must show respect to all the victims that lose their lives there fighting for its dreams. Certainly, this is one of the most famous abandoned places in Spain.

Craco, Italy

This Medieval town has been uninhabited for years. Craco was once a monastic center, with castle, squares, churches and even a university. In fact, this fascinating town has served as set to many films like the Passion of Christ and for Quantum of Solace. Since its construction, on the top of a hill, the terrain of Craco was unstable. All the inhabitants were forced to leave their beautiful Medieval Town in 1963, after several landslides of natural origin; the last in 1933.

Shicheng, China

This is a very special city located deep of Qiandao Lake. The Lion City was declared as historical relics under the protection of the Zhejiang Province. This ancient village was established hundred years ago and now lies underwater. Surprisingly Shicheng hasn’t eroded much, in fact most of its buildings and the wooden details remain intact. There aren’t many tourist operators reason why the diver tour is very expensive, however if money is not a problem, diving through Qiandao Lake and visit Shicheng is certainly a lifetime experience. Probably one of the most incredible abandoned places on earth.
